that the General Assembly has committed
to provide funding based on a percentage
of the project cost.
Capital projects comprising grants to local
governments in support of Smart Growth,
economic development or redevelopment,
and neighborhood revitalization should be
shown in the Division of Neighborhood
Revitalization within the Department of
Housing and Community Development.
DE02.01 Public Works Capital Appropriation
General Fund Appropriation, provided that
it is the intent of the General Assembly
that the new arena at the University of
Maryland. College Park not exceed
470,000 gross square feet.
Further provided that $9,820,000 of this
appropriation, made for the purpose of
constructing Bowie State University's
"New Science Building" may not be
expended until:
(1) the budget committees have received a
report from the Department of Budget
and Management indicating that
current enrollment projections for
Bowie State University continue to
justify the need for a new science
building which includes:
(a) revised enrollment projections for
fiscal 2001 through fiscal 2010;
(b) revised enrollment projections for
each of the programs to be housed
in the new science building for
fiscal 2001 through fiscal 2010:
(c) a detailed plan prepared by Bowie
State University which addresses
how the university will achieve
increased enrollment consistent
with its enrollment projections
