MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
[Pursuant to Section(s) C-1 and C-2 of the Charter of the City of Pocomoke City,
Worcester County, as found in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of
Municipal Charters (1990 Replacement Edition and 1999 Supplement). Effective Date October 28, 1999]
PORT DEPOSIT (Cecil County) Legal Notice Annexation Resolution RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Council of the Town of Port Deposit, adopted
pursuant to the authority of Article XIE of the Constitution of Maryland and Section
19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition - 1998
Replacement Volume), for the enlargement of the corporate boundaries of said Town
by the annexation of certain land contiguous to and adjoining the existing corporate
area. (970.6649 acres of land, more or less) [Section(s) 201 of the Charter of the Town of Port Deposit, Cecil County, as found
in the Public Local Laws of Maryland - Compilation of Municipal Charters (1990
Replacement Edition and 1999 Supplement), repealed and reenacted, with
amendments. Effective Date December 3, 1999]
PRESTON (Caroline County) Resolution No: 2000-03 Whereas, the Commissioners of Preston wish to amend the Preston Town Charter for
the purpose of updating and improving the existing charter and, Whereas, the Charter amendment to Article III, Section 303, Section 304, Section 603,
Section 701, Section 704, Section 706, Section 716, Section 1101 has been developed
by the Commission to improve the governance of the Town; and BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the Town of Preston, Maryland that
amendments to the current Charter will be enacted in accordance with Article XI-E of
the Constitution of Maryland and Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition as amended), titled "Corporations-Municipal," that Sections, 303, 304,
603, 701, 704, 706, 716 and 1101 as it now exists in the current Charter 1996 edition,
be repealed, and everywhere the word "Mayor" appears, will be replaced with the
word "President" or "President of Commissioners."
