WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 19(b) of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, the Mayor and Town Council of Oakland have initiated this Resolution to
enlarge the corporate boundaries of the Town by annexation of land adjoining and
contiguous to the existing corporate boundaries, and being the area known as the
High Street Area Annexation, as is depicted in detail on a Plat dated September 23,
1999, as revised October 21, 1999, prepared by Morgan C. France, surveyor. (25.53
acres of land, more or less)
