Ch. 660 1997 LAWS OF MARYLAND
It is further the intent of the General Assembly that the cost of
renovating the existing facility shall be shared between the State,
Baltimore City and, to the extent possible, private sources.
The State Department of Education and the State Library Resource
Center shall submit a report to the budget committees by September 1,
1997:
(1) detailing the history of operating and capital funding support for
SLRC by the State and by Baltimore City and indicating the level
of future operating support which will be required of each; and
(2) providing a strategic plan for SLRC to Increase the use of SLRC
by other libraries through Increased use of new technology,
enhancement of collections, and provision of specialized services
(e.g., manuscript restoration/preservation). The plan should
indicate the costs associated with these initiatives.
The Department of General Services shall verify the reasonableness of
the cost estimates provided by the library's consultants and provide this
information with the submission of the Fiscal Year 1999 budget

and provide capital equipment for the School of Nursing Building.
(C) Howard Hall. Renovate a portion of Howard Hall to provide
upgraded teaching and research laboratories...................................
(D) School of Law and Marshall Law Library Buildings. Prepare
preliminary plans to demolish and replace the original wing of the
School of Law Building and to construct alterations and additions
to the remainder of the School of Law Building and to the
Marshall Law Library, provided that the scope of the addition to
Lane Hall may not exceed 141,600 gross square feet. It is the intent of
the General Assembly that the total State cost not exceed $28.4
