highway with an eight to ten foot median
between MD 450 and U.S. 50.
Special Fund Appropriation, provided that
$2,100,000 of this appropriation, made for
the purpose of studying a potential new
interchange at I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway)
and Ritchie Marlboro Road, may not be
expended until Prince George's County has:
(1) identified necessary transportation
improvements to the county owned roads in
the Ritchie Road/Walker Mill Road
corridor;
(2)—designated the improvements to the
Ritchie Road/Walker Mill Road corridor as
a priority for inclusion and funding in the
county's transportation capital program:
(3)—submitted a copy of the county
transportation capital program which
includes the proposed improvements to the
Ritchie RoadWalker Mill Road corridor,
including a funding and construction
phasing schedule; and
(4)—the budget committees have reviewed
and commented upon the county's
transportation program or 45 days have
elapsed from the date the program is
received.
Further provided that $1,500,000 of this
appropriation, made for the purpose of
funding the construction of sidewalks
adjacent to State highways, shall be
allocated to ensure that funding priority is
given for sidewalk projects adjacent to State
highways which are adjoining or provide
access to schools or other areas where
pedestrian safety is a primary concern.
Further provided that $7,000,000 of this
appropriation, made for the purpose of
funding Neighborhood Conservation
projects, may only be used to fund
improvements which have a direct
transportation purpose and are located
