or interfere with the provisions of the existing law relating to the collection of [state]
STATE and county taxes for the county other than the changes herein set forth or that
may be necessarily implied therefrom.
2-7-29.
[ The county treasurer, as provided by law, before he proceeds to act as collector of
county taxes in each year, shall bond to the state in the penalty of fifty thousand dollars
($50,000.00), with good and sufficient sureties, to be approved by the board of county
commissioners, with the condition that if the above-found .................. shall well and
faithfully execute his office and shall account for and pay to the county commissioners on
their order the several sums of money which he shall receive for the county or be
answerable for by law, at such times as the law shall direct, than this obligation to be void;
otherwise, to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. Before he shall proceed to act
as collector of state taxes for the county in each year, he shall give a separate bond to the
state, in a penalty double the amount of the tax to be collected by him, with good and
sufficient sureties, to be approved by the governor of the state, with the condition that if
the above-bound................shall well and faithfully execute and shall account for to the
comptroller and pay to the treasurer of the state the several sums of money which he shall
receive for the state or be answerable for by law, at such time as the law shall direct, then
such obligation shall be void; otherwise, to be and remain in full force and virtue in law.
The county treasurer's bond as collector of county taxes, when approved by the board of
county commissioners, shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of the circuit court for
the county. The county treasurer's bond as collector of state taxes, when approved by the
governor, shall be filed in the office of the comptroller of the treasury.] THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL PROVIDE A BOND FOR THE COUNTY TREASURER
IN AN AMOUNT AND IN A FORM THAT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DETERMINE
APPROPRIATE.
2-7-30.
[ The county treasurer, before he proceeds to act as such, shall take and subscribe
the following oath: "I ,............, the county treasurer for Frederick County, State of
Maryland, do solemnly swear that I will well and truly execute the duties imposed upon
me by law, and that I will justly and impartially value all property which I shall be
authorized to value, according to the best of my skill and judgement, and that I will not
either directly or indirectly make any profit of the money collected by me by the use
thereof in any manner whatever." Such oath shall be administered by the clerk of the
circuit court for the county or by one of his deputies and a certificate thereof under the
seal of such court shall be filed with the board of county commissioners.] BEFORE THE
COUNTY TREASURER ASSUMES THE DUTIES OF OFFICE, THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT
COURT FOR FREDERICK COUNTY SHALL ADMINISTER TO THE COUNTY TREASURER
AN OATH THAT THE COUNTY TREASURER WILL FAITHFULLY DISCHARGE THE
DUTIES OF THE OFFICE

The county treasurer is hereby authorized to appoint a clerk at a salary of one
thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00) per annum. The board of county commissioners
are hereby authorized and directed to levy such sum annually for the payment of the
salary of the clerk and the treasurer shall pay the same monthly.]
