Ch. 29                                     1996 LAWS OF MARYLAND

[2-7-32.

The county treasurer is hereby authorized to appoint a chief clerk and a
stenographer at salaries to be set by the county treasurer and submitted in his annual
budget to the board of county commissioners for the approval of the board of county
commissioners. The county treasurer is also authorized to secure such additional clerical
assistance, with the approval of the board of county commissioners, as shall be necessary
for the proper conduct of his office as tax collector and county treasurer. The board of
county commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to levy a sum sufficient to pay
such salaries and additional clerical services as provided herein. The board of county
commissioners is further authorized and directed to levy a sum sufficient each year to pay
the premium on the bond required of the county treasurer and to pay for the same, and
to levy not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) per year for legal fees, to be paid by
the county treasurer.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the compensation of the Treasurer of Frederick County in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the compensation of the
Frederick County Treasurer shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term
of office. This section may not be construed as precluding the providing of fringe benefits
that the County Treasurer serving on the effective date of this Act has received since the
start of the current term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1996.

Division of State Documents - Publications

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Administrator of the Division of State Documents, if
the Administrator makes a certain determination, to publish factual information in
the Code of Maryland Regulations, the Maryland Register, and the Contract
Weekly concerning these publications and documents contained in these
publications; and generally relating to certain information that may be published in
the Code of Maryland Regulations, the Maryland Register, and the Contract
Weekly.
