In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 95 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for a grant to the
Somerset County Board of Education to
support the operating costs of the Smith
Island School Boat.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

General Fund Appropriation

36.01.02.13 Innovative Programs

In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 95 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for supporting Prince
George's County's Neighborhood Schools
Improvement Program. Funds will be used
to increase the number of Model
Comprehensive and Milliken schools.
Funding will support efforts to end court
ordered busing.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
$2,000,000 of this appropriation may not be
expended until the Maryland State
Department of Education in conjunction
with the Prince George's County Board of
Education provide a report to the budget
committees that includes information on:

(1)    the scope of the efforts to
desegregate county schools;

(2)    how these funds will fulfill the
desegregation goal; and

(3)    the potential fiscal impact of the
desegregation efforts.

Funds may not be expended until the budget
committees have reviewed and commented
on the report or 45 days have elapsed from
the date the report is received by the
committees.
