Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions
General Fund Appropriation, provided that
$1,369,200 of this appropriation may not be
expended until the Maryland State
Department of Education in conjunction
with Baltimore City Public Schools provide
a report to the budget committees that
includes information on:
(1) the scope of efforts to improve
schools that are identified for
reconstitution; and
(2) how funds will be allocated to
schools and the uses of these funds.
Funds may not be expended until the budget
committees have reviewed and commented
on the report or 45 days have elapsed from
the date the report is received by the
committees.
36.01.02.13 Innovative Programs
In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 95 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for the Maryland
Student Service Alliance which promotes
youth service throughout the State. Funds
will be used for supporting staff to provide
training and technical assistance to
teachers, students and community-based
organizations to ensure meaningful service
learning experiences... Data collection,
evaluation, monitoring and reporting the
status of service learning in Maryland will
also be undertaken with these funds.
