SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-108.

(a) Except for CALVERT COUNTY AND the counties listed in § 3-113 of this subtitle,
the Governor shall appoint the members of each county board from the residents of that
county.

3-110.1.

(A) THE CALVERT COUNTY BOARD CONSISTS OF:

(1) FIVE VOTING MEMBERS WHO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AS FOLLOWS:

(I) ONE MEMBER FROM EACH COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT;
AND

(II) TWO MEMBERS FROM THE COUNTY AT LARGE; AND

(2) ONE NONVOTING STUDENT MEMBER WHO SHALL:

(I) BE AN ELEVENTH OR TWELFTH GRADE STUDENT IN THE CALVERT
COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM ELECTED BY THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF THE
COUNTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROCEDURES ESTABLISHED BY THE SCHOOL SYSTEM;

(II) SERVE FOR 1 YEAR BEGINNING ON JULY 1 AFTER THE ELECTION
OF THE MEMBER; AND
