(2) SHALL BE GOVERNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POLICY MANUAL
OF BALTIMORE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGES ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES. SHALL REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE CHANCELLOR.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning
Public Schools - Minimum Number of School Days and Hours
FOR the purpose of altering the requirement relating to the minimum number of school
days and hours for public schools so as to require that certain public schools be
open a minimum number of days or and a minimum number of hours or, under
certain circumstances, a minimum number of hours; eliminating a certain provision
requiring advance approval from the State Board of Education if a public school is
not open for a minimum number of days; and generally relating to minimum
number of days and minimum number of hours that certain public schools are
required to be open for pupil attendance.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
7-103.
(a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (e) of this section, each public
school under the jurisdiction of a county board:
(1) [(i)] Shall be open for pupil attendance for at least 180 actual school
days [and] OR a minimum of 1,080 school hours during a 10-month period in each
school year; [or
(ii) Subject to the advance approval of the State Board IF NORMAL
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IS PREVENTED BECAUSE OF CONDITIONS DESCRIBED IN
SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, shall be open for at least 1,080 hours during a
10-month period; and]
