1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(3)     Shall recommend the discharge of employees for good cause; however,
any employee with tenure shall be given reasonable notice of the grounds for dismissal
and an opportunity to be heard;

(4)     Is responsible for the conduct of the community college and for the
administration and supervision of its departments; and

(5)     Shall attend all meetings of the board, except those involving his
personal position as president.

6-204.1. 16-204.1.

(A) NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF § 16-204 OF THIS SUBTITLE, THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL APPLY ONLY IN BALTIMORE COUNTY.

(A) (B) THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR BALTIMORE COUNTY SHALL
APPOINT A CHANCELLOR OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN BALTIMORE COUNTY
WHO SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE BOARD.

(B) (C) THE CHANCELLOR:

(1)      SHALL REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES;

(2)     SHALL RECOMMEND THE APPOINTMENT BY THE BOARD OF
QUALIFIED FACULTY MEMBERS AND OTHER EMPLOYEES NECESSARY FOR THE
EFFICIENT ADMINISTRATION OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN BALTIMORE
COUNTY;

(3)     SHALL RECOMMEND THE DISCHARGE OF EMPLOYEES FOR GOOD
CAUSE; HOWEVER, ANY EMPLOYEE WITH TENURE SHALL BE GIVEN REASONABLE
NOTICE OF THE GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD;

(4)     IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE COMMUNITY COLLEGES
IN BALTIMORE COUNTY AND FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION OF ITS
DEPARTMENTS THE PRESIDENTS. EMPLOYEES. AND DEPARTMENTS OF THE
COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN BALTIMORE COUNTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE POLICY
MANUAL OF THE BALTIMORE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGES AS ADOPTED FROM
TIME TO TIME BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES; AND

(5)     SHALL ATTEND ALL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD, EXCEPT THOSE
INVOLVING THE CHANCELLOR'S PERSONAL POSITION.

(C) (D) UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CHANCELLOR, THE BOARD
OF TRUSTEES MAY APPOINT A PRESIDENT OF EACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE UNDER
ITS JURISDICTION.

(C) (E) THE PRESIDENTS OF EACH BALTIMORE COUNTY COMMUNITY
COLLEGE SHALL;

(1) REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE CHANCELLOR; AND
