AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County Community Colleges - Board of Trustees - Chancellor

FOR the purpose of requiring the Board of Trustees of Baltimore County Community
Colleges to appoint a Chancellor; specifying the reporting responsibilities and
duties of the Chancellor; permitting the Board of Trustees of Baltimore County
Community Colleges to appoint a president of each Baltimore County community
college; specifying the reporting responsibilities of the presidents; establishing that
the presidents shall be governed in accordance with a certain policy manual; and
generally relating to the Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and presidents of Baltimore
County community colleges.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

16-204.

(a)     EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN § 16-204.1 OF THIS SUBTITLE, [Each] EACH board
of trustees shall appoint a president of each community college under its jurisdiction.

(b)     The president:

(1)     Shall report directly to the board of trustees;

(2)     Shall recommend the appointment by the board of qualified faculty
members and other employees necessary for the efficient administration of the
community college;
