witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that Hooper C.
Hicks, Thomas H. Hicks and Richardson Gambrell, obligors mentioned in
the said Bond, did severally, in our presence, sign, seal & deliver the
said Bond as their Act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned."
Sworn before me on the day above mentioned.         Ja.s Hammersly


State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond was
Paid   from   Ex.d      recorded on the 17.th day of April 1848, To wit:
Robert Bell & others  {Stamp}     Know all men by these presents, that
                                 {one dol.}   we Robert Bell, Francis J. Henry and
William A. Sulivane, of Dorchester County, in the state of Maryland,
are held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland, in the full and
just sum of Two thousand dollars, current money of the United States,
to be paid to the said state or its Attorney; to the which payment
well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors
and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.
Sealed with our seals and dated this 17.th day of April 1848.

The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above
bounden Robert Bell shall well and truly execute the office of Constable
of Cambridge, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall
well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for collection,
and shall also well & truly pay all sums of Money received by him,
then the above obligation to be void, otherwise of full force and
virtue in law.

James Higgins  
Barzillai Slacum                                              W. A. Sulivane   (L S)

Dorchester County, To wit:  On the 17.th day of April 1848,
personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace
in and for the County aforesaid, James Higgins & Barzillai Slacum,
and made the following Oath, To wit:  We James Higgins &
Barzillai Slacum, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond,
do make Oath that Robert Bell, Francis J Henry and William
A. Sulivane, obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally, in
our presence, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond, as their act &
deed, for the purposes therein mentioned."
                     Sworn before me on the day above mentioned
