94 the said Ferry over Slaughter Creek from the Main to where Henry Travers formerly lived from day light to day light from the first of November to the first of March, and from an hour before to an hour after day light for the residue of the year, commencing from the tenth of May 1848 and ending twelve months thereafter and shall keep constantly and in good order a Scow that will safely carry four passengers and their Horses at one trip with two able bodied and skilful hands to attend the said Ferry, and shall not charge or receive any greater price for ferriage than what is allowed by law, then the above obligation to be null and void, otherwise of force and virtue in law. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond from was recorded on the 17.th day of April 1848, To wit: Hooper C. Hicks & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that {one dol.} we Hooper C. Hicks, Thomas H. Hicks and Richardson Gambrell, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full & just sum of Two thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors & Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 17.th day of April 1848. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden Hooper C. Hicks shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable in the Town of Vienna, in Dorchester County, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well and truly pay all sums of money received by him, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise of full force and virtue in law.
