84 as Executors aforesaid, and Thomas Woolford sen.r aforesaid, have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first herein before written. Witness presents Tho.s C. Jones (seal) James Craig John Jones of Col. (seal) Edward R. Christopher Thomas Woolford (seal) State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby certified, that on the twenty first day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace of the state of Maryland, in and for Dorchester County, personally appeared Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors of Col. John Jones dec.d aforesaid, together with Thomas Woolford sen.r, who did Acknowledge the foregoing Indenture or bill of sale, to be their Act and deed, according to the purport, true intent & meaning of the same, and the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided: And at the same time and place also appeared Thomas Woolford, aforesaid Grantee in the said Bill of sale, before me the aforesaid Justice of the Peace for said County, and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged & sworn before James Craig (seal) John Jones of Col. Be it remembered that the following Bill of 85 from Ex.d sale was recorded on the 3.d day of April 1848. Tho. C. Jones & This Indenture made this twenty first day of John Jones of Col. March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, between Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors of Col. John Jones, deceased, both of Dorchester County, state of Maryland, of the one part, and John Jones of Col. of McKeels point, Dorchester County state of Maryland, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors as aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and ten dollars, current money of Maryland, to them in hand paid by the said John Jones of Col. at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby Acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said John Jones of Col. his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, one Negro Girl Mary, and belonging to the Estate of the aforesaid Col. John Jones deceased, for the full time or term of Fourteen years from the twenty first day of March Eighteen hundred and forty eight, that being the period of time the said Mary has to serve, at the expiration of which time or term 1851 February 19 Deld to John Jones of Col. |
