421 April 6.th 1852 Received of Mr John A Pattison sixty five dollars in part of the within Bill of Sale & his note payable at nine months from date for the ballance which is in full of the within Bill of Sale Test James Rea Peter G Lecompt Nancy Thomas Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Exd from 60 bill of sale was received and recorded on the 24.th day of Otho Thomas May 1852 to wit Know all men by these Presents that the Said Otho Thomas of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by nancy Thomas of the county and state aforesaid at or before the Ensealing and Delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Otho Thomas do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant & do grant bargain and sell unto the said Nancy Thomas her executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Otho Thomas for myself my heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid Negro boy to the said Nancy Thomas her heirs Executors and Administrators against me the said Otho Thomas my executors and administrators and assigns and against all and every Person or Persons Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Nancy Thomas her executors administrators and assigns all and every other Person or Persons whomsoever Claiming the Same. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17.th day of May 1852 Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Ortho Thomas (seal) Samuel Abbott James H. Radcliff State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit On this 17th day of May 1852 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appeared Otho Thomas and acknowledges the foregoing writing tho be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided at the same time appeared Nancy Thomas party Grantee named in the aforegoing bill of sale and made oath that the consideration set forth in said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Taken and acknowledged before Samuel Abbott J. P. Received May 24.th 1852 of Nancy Thomas the sum of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis J Henry Clerk |
