the Seventeenth Day of May Eighteen Hundred and fifty two personally appeared
before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland in and
for the County aforesaid Solomon Robinson and acknowledged the within & foregoing
Instrument of writing or release to be his act and deed and delivered the same for
the uses and purposes therein mentioned and I further Certify that from my own
Knowledge I am satisfied that the said Solomon Robinson who is named & described
as & who Professes to be the party grantor in the aforegoing Instrument of Writing is
the same person who executed & acknowledged the same before me

John R. Pattison       Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that
    Exd  from   65      the following Bill of Sale was received and recorded
Peter G. Lecompt     on the 19.th day of May 1852 to wit
                                              Know all men by these presents that
I Peter G. Lecompt of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland
for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars Current money
to me in hand paid By John R. Pattison of the same county and state
at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the
said Lecompt do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by
these Presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John R Pattison
his executors administrators and assigns One negro man named Robert Jackson
of a dark chesnut color and a slave for life aged about thirty Eight or
thirty nine years  To have and to hold the said negro man slave Robert
above bargained and sold to the said John R Pattison his executors administrators
and assigns ^forever and I the said Peter G Lecompt for myself my heirs executors and administrators the said negro man slave Robert unto the said John R Pattison his executors administrators and assigns^ & against me the said Peter G Lecompt my executors and
administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever
shall and will warrant and defend by these presents   In witness whereof
I have hereunto put my hand and seal this Sixth day of April in the year of
our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty two
Signed Sealed and
delivered in presence of                                          Peter G Lecompt   (L S)
             James Rea J. P.

State of Maryland Dorchester County   Be it remembered and it
is hereby Certified that on this Sixth day of April in the year 1852  before the
subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the county and state aforesaid appear
Peter G Lecompt grantor in the within Bill of sale to me known and acknowledged
the within Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the purport
true intent and meaning of the same and at the same time Came before me John
R Pattison party Grantee named in the within bill of sale and made oath in
the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the said
Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth according to the act of assembly
in such case made and provided  Acknowledged and sworn to before me the day and
year above written   Sworn to & acknowledged before      James Rea J. P.
