409 Received This 10.th day of April 1852 one dollar in lieu of a stamp on this deed from Doct R F Tubman Francis J Henry Clerk Caleb Shepherd Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Exd from Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 5.th day of April 1852 Thomas H Hurley To wit This Indenture made this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord 1852 Between Thomas H Hurley of Cambridge in the County of Camden and State of Maryland of the one part and Caleb Shepherd of the Said County and State of a second part Witnesseth therein the said Thomas H. Hurley party of the first part for and in Consideration of the sum of five dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained Sold assigned transferred and set over and by these presents doth bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said Caleb Shepherd party of the second part his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the goods chattels household stuff implements furniture debts sum and sums of money books of account and other things belonging ^to due^ and owing to the said Thomas H. Hurley and all the personal estate and effects whatsoever of him the said Thomas H Hurley and all his estate and interest therein To have and to hold receive perceive and take the same unto the said Caleb Shepherd his executors administrators and assigns in trust and confidence to and for the uses intents and purposes and subject to the powers hereinafter mentioned and expressed and declared of and concerning the same and this indenture further witnesseth that the said Thomas H. Hurley doth hereby make constitute and appoint and in his place and Stead put and depute him the said Caleb Shepherd his executors administrators and assigns his true and lawful attorney irrevocable for him the said Thomas H Hurley And in his name or in the name of his said attorney to the uses and purposes herein after expressed to taken into his hands Custody and possession the whole estate chattels effects and property household goods furniture implements debts sum and sums ^of money^ books of account and all the personal estate and effects whatsoever of him the said Thomas H. Hurley hereby conveyed transferred and by all lawful ways and means to enforce payment of, collect and recover and receive all debts money and claims hereby assignes and acquittence therefor to execute and to compound for all bad or dubious debts and attorney, or attorneys in his place and stead to substitute and to do all other matters an things in the premises which he the said Thomas H. Hurley might or could do if this conveyance were not executed In Trust that he the said Caleb Shepherd his executors administrators and assigns shall and will as soon as convenient sell and dispose of at public auction or private sale as he or they shall deem most advisable for the purposes herein after expressed the whole of the estate effects chattels furniture |
