408 have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Robert F Tubman his executors administrators and assigns one Horse named Eclips 8 years old one black mare named Bets 14 years old one other Black mare named Dove 4 years old one yoke black oxen with white faces one yoke pide steers aged 3 years old one yoke steers one pide the other red one cow red with white face and calf one white Back Cow 1 years old one Red ditto 4 years old one motly face cow 9 years old one small heiffer Road Colour 1 year old one sow and eight shoats about 6 or nine months old one four wheel Carriage and Harness one ox cart yoke and Bows two ploughs two Harrows two hoes one spade one shovel one barge about fifteen Barrels Corn from 3 to 4000 weight of Blades four beds bedsteads and furnature ½ doz stool chairs ½ doz flag chairs one Beaureau two tables two waters lot books two pair andirons one pair Shovel and tongs two chests one candle stand one cupboard and contents 3 iron pots 2 ovens 1 spider frying pan lot wooden ware Loom and Gear Milch house one wheat fan and ware 3 or 400 weight of bacon all which property is now in my possession to have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Robert F Tubman his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit and I the said Cyrus Corkran for my self my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend of these presents to the said Robert F Tubman his executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my executors ^and^ administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the Same or any part thereof In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my seal the first day of April in the year of our lord 1852 Signed Sealed and Cyrus Corkran (Seal) delivered in presence of James Rea J. P. State of Maryland Dorchester County Sct. Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty two before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appears Cyrus Corkran he being known to be a party to the foregoing Bill of Sale or indenture and doth acknowledge the said indenture or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and at the same time and place also appeared before the subscriber Robert F Tubman the grantee in the said Bill of Sale or indenture named and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Sworn to and Acknowledged before James Rea J. P. Deld to Robt F Tubman Decr 6 1852 |
