404 goods and chattels here^in^after particularly mentioned and expressed to wit one iron Grey Horse Tom One spotted mare called Betts one white mare called nance one red Steer Called Lamb one dark Steer Called Jake one red Steer Called turk one red Steer with white back Called Tory two white Cows two heifers two Steer yearlings one red calf two Sows and 10 pigs nine head of Sheep 2 ox carts 2 Cultivators 2 plows 4 beds bedsteads and furniture one dozen chairs one bureau one large table one clock one old desk and all the residue of Household & kitchen furniture To have and to hold all and singular the Said goods & chattels herein before granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the said Josiah Hughes and William Hughes their executors administrators and assigns ^to the only proper use and behoof of the said Josiah Hughes & William Hughes their executors, administrators and assigns^ forever Provided always and these presents are upon this condition that if the Said Charles Austin his executors or administrators shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the Said John A Scott his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of two Hundred and Nineteen dollars current money with legal interest for the same until paid then in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purpose any thing herein contained to the Contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding In witness whereof the said Charles Austin free colored man hath hereto set his name and affixed his Seal the day and date within and before written Signed Sealed and delivered his in the presence of Charles + Austin (Seal) James Rea J. P. mark Maryland Dorchester County to wit on the 15.th day of March Anno domini 1852 personally appeared before me a justice of the peace in and for ^the^ said County Charles Austin free colored man party Mortgagor and acknowledged the within and aforegoing Mortgage Bill of sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of the same and at the same time came before me Josiah Hughes and William Hughes party Mortgagees within mentioned and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this mortgage Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth According to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged and sworn before James Rea J. P. Received March 15.th 1852 of Josiah Hughes and William Hughes the Sum of Fifteen Cents in lieu of a Stamp on this Mortgage Bill of Sale Francis Henry Clerk Samuel Burns Be it remembered and it is hereby recorded that to the following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received John S Stapelfort and recorded on the 24.th day of March 1852 delivered to Jackson Slacum feb 3 1852 |
