402 State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 19.th day of February in the year 1852 personally appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for the said state and county Levin W Jones Mary Ann Tall Elizabeth D Jones and Authur James Jones and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be their respective act and deed and at the same time appeared before us Thomas Jones Jr the party Grantee in the aforegoing instrument and made oath on the holy Evangely of God that the consideration mentioned in the same is bona fide just and true James Craig J. P. State of Maryland Baltimore City To wit On this 28.th day of February in the year Eighteen Hundred and fifty two personally appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for the said city and state John W Jones party grantor in the foregoing instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed Acknowledged before A H Pennington J. P. State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct. I Hereby Certify that A. H. Pennington Esquire before when the annexed acknowledgments were made and ^who^ has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the city of Baltimore duly Commissioned and sworn. in testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of the superior Court of Baltimore City this Twenty eighth day of February A. D. 1852 (seal) Edward Dowling Clerk of the superior court of Baltimore James Wallace Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that Exd from 65 the following Bill of sale was received and recorded W Strawberry on the 12.th day of March 1852 to wit Know all men by these presents that I William Strawberry of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to me in hand paid by Ja.s Wallace at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge have granted ^bargained^ and sold and by these presents do bargain & sell give and grant to James Wallace his heirs executors administrators and assigns 1 sorrel mare Mary with bob tail one cart and double plough one yoke of steers 1 Cow 1 heifer 1 calf 2 sows and 6 pigs and all and singular my farming utensils and household stuff all and singular which goods and chattels are now remaining on the farm formerly owned by Aaron A Cook and now owned by Levin Jones and James Wallace & now in Delivr.d to W Strawberry Jany 7th 1852. |
