396 One old red steer French 6 Barrels of corn 2 stacks of top fodder one stack of straw all which property is ^now^ in my possession to have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Robert F. Tubman his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and his only proper use and benefit and I the said Peter Fletcher for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Robert F Tubman his executors administrators ^& assigns the said described property against me my executors & administrators^ and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 16th day of January 1852 Signed sealed and delivered his In presence of Peter + Fletcher (seal) Charles Corkran mark State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this the 16th day of January 1852 Came before me one of the Justices of of the peace in and for said county Peter Fletcher black man and acknowledged the within or foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true meaning and interest thereof and the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided. As witness my hand and seal this the 16th day of January 1852 Witness Charles Corkran (seal) Charles Corkran Mo.s T Cornwell And at the same time personally appeared Robert F Tubman and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the foregoing Bill of sale is and Bona fide as therein set forth Charles Corkran David W Tyler Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that Exd from 60 the following bill of sale was received and recorded on Charles Shenton the 3rd day of February 1852 to wit. {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that I Charles {one dollar} Shenton of Dorchester County and state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by David W Tyler of the said county and state before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is truly acknowledged the said ^Charles^ Shenton has granted bargained and sold conveyed and transfered and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell convey and transfer unto the said David W Tyler his heirs and assigns forever one negro girl Delivered to D W Tyler April 27 1853 |
