388. or qualification of any kind whatever by me which negro I warrant to be perfectly sound & in a healthy condition & a bona fide slave for the above named time & no longer said negro slave within to be taken carried or sent now in any way whatever if any person or persons removed without the limits of the State of Maryland the right & title of said slave. I will warrant and defend & guarantee against all Claims of any kind whatever for the period above mentioned in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twenty fourth day of May Eighteen hundred and fifty two Test William I Cowart (seal) Charles Corkran J. William H Conaway (seal) Dorchester County State of Maryland To wit: Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of May 1852 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of said County & State aforesaid William I Cowart & William H Conaway and acknowledged the within instrument of Writing to be their act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof and at the same time Appeared before me William I Cowart the grantee in the said Bill of Sale named and made oath that the Consideration set fourth in said Bill of Sale is true and Bona Fide as therein set fourth. Henry Clk I hereby Certify that the above Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the twenty sixth day of May 1852 F. I. Henry Clk William Christopher Received the following Bill of Sale on the 25th Paid from Exd of August and recorded it the same day Alexander R Anderson Know all men by these presents that I Alexander R Anderson of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Eleven hundred dollars current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by William Christopher at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I the said Alexander R Anderson have bargained and sold conveyed and transferred and by these presents do bargain and sell, convey and transfer unto the Said William Christopher his heirs and assigns forever, the following goods and chattels, to wit: one lot of Cord Wood Containing 500 cords more or less, one bay Horse, one four wheel Carriage one yoak of steers, two Cows, 5 head of young Cattle more or less one ox Cart, ten head of Hogs more or less, all my farming implements of every kind and discription whatsoever the Crop of Corn now growing where I live |
