Mary S. Sulivane            Be it remembered that the following Deed of
          to     Ex.d             Manumission was recorded on the 11.th day of
Levin Camper Negro      December 1847, To wit:
                                      Maryland Dorchester County Sc  To all
whom it may concern be it known that I Mary S. Sulivane of the
Town of Cambridge in the County and state aforesaid for divers good
causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from
slavery, liberated, manumitted and set free and by these presents do
hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit and set free my negro
man named Levin Camper being of the age of forty four years
and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood & Maintenance
and him the said Negro man named Levin Camper I do declare
to be henceforth free, manumitted & discharged from all manner
of service or servitude to me, my Executors or Administrators forever.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and my seal
affixed this Eleventh day of December 1847.
Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of us     Mary S. Sulivane   (Seal)

Dorchester County Cambridge, To wit:  Be it remembered that on this
Eleventh day of December in the year of Our Lord 1847 then came
before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in and for said
County Miss Mary S. Sulivane and Acknowledged the within above
and aforegoing Manumission to be her Act and deed according to
the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided
Acknowledged before                                    W.m W. Le Compte


William Davidson      Be it remembered that the following Mortgage
      from      Ex.d       Bill of Sale was recorded on the 13.th day of December
James W. Davidson   1847, To wit:
                                 This Indenture made this 13.th day of December
A. D. 1847 between James W. Davidson of Dorchester County in the state of
Maryland of the one part and William Davidson of the County & State
aforesaid of the other part   Whereas the said James W. Davidson owes
and stands justly indebted to the said William Davidson in the
sum of six hundred dollars current money and to secure the payment
thereof is willing to execute these presents.  Now this Indenture
Witnesseth that the said James W. Davidson for and in consideration
of the Premises and of the sum of five dollars current Money
to him in hand paid by the said William Davidson at and before the
sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents
doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said William Davidson
