367. eight hundred & fifty one, personally appeared befiore me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of said County, James H. Mears ^party^ grantor, and Acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned At the same time came before me the subscriber aforesaid, Jeremiah Hubbard, party grantee within mentioned and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged & sworn before Rec.d Oct 29 1851 one dollar in lieu of a stamp Charles Corkran. on this Bill of Sale. Wm Jackson Clk. Horatio G. Grieves Be it remembered that the following Mortgage Paid from Ex.d Bill of sale was recorded on the 5.th day of Joseph T. Vane November A. D. 1851, To wit: This Indenture made this fourth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty one, between Joseph T Vane of Dorchester County in teh State of Maryland of the one part, and Horatio G. Grieves of the said County & State, of the other part Whereas the said Joseph T. Vane owes and stands justly indebted to the said Horatio G. Grieves in the sum of one hundred & fifty eight dollars & sixty eight Cents, current money, and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that teh said Joseph T. Vane, for and in consideration of the Premises, and of the sum of one hundred & fifty eight dollars and sixty eight cents, current money, being for Horen rent due & Cash in hand paid by the said Horatio G. Grieves ^at^ & before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell, unto teh said Horatio G. Grieves, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns, all & singular teh goods, furniture and Household stuff herein after particularly mentioned & expressed that is to say, Four Bedsteads, 4 Feather Beds, Eight Quilts Two Counterpanes, Four Blankets, Six sheets, Four Bolsters, Eight Pillows, Seven Pillow Slips, Four Tables, one Toilet Table, Two Stands, one Clock, one Cradle, one Cook stove & fixtures, Two Iron Pots, Two Ovens and lids, Two Cupboards, Four Tubs, one dozen Cups & Saucers, Twelve Plates, Eleven Knives & forks, Two turned Stools, Six Eastern Bowls, one Carving Knife & forks, one Steel, one pair Andirons, two pair Shovel & Tongs, one Milch Cow, one blind Horse, one Waggon, one set of Harness, Three Candlesticks, nine Table Spoons, nine Tea spoons, Eight chairs, one washing Machine, Three Pictures, one Looking Glass To have and to hold all and singular the Goods, Furniture & House hold stuff aforesaid, unto the said Horatio G.
