Be it remembered that on this twenty second day of October
in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty one, before
the subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace of the said
State, in & for Dorchester County, personally appears Hugh Maguire,
party grantor in the within instrument, and acknowledged
the same as his act & deed, for the purposes therein mentioned,
and according to the act of Assembly in such case made
and provided:  And at the same time & place also appeared
before me, the Justice of the Peace aforesaid, Amos Bowdle,
the Mortgagee in the said Indenture, or bill of sale, and
made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said
Mortgage bill of sale is true & bona fide, as therein set
forth.  Taken, acknowledged and sworn ^to^ before me
                                                       James Hammersly

Rec.d the 24.th October 1851 the sum of ten cents in
lieu of a stamp on this Mortgage bill of sale.

Jeremiah Hubbard      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale
Ex.d     from     60      was recorded on the 29.th day of October 1851, To wit:
James H. Mears         Know all men by these presents that I, James H.
                                  Mears, of Dorchester County & State of Maryland, for
and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred & fourteen dollars,
current money, to me in hand paid by Jeremiah Hubbard of the County &
State aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said James
H. Mears has ^given,^ granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents does ^give^ grant,
bargain & sell unto the said Jeremiah Hubbard, his heirs & Assigns
forever, the following property, To wit:  One yoke of Steers, one Mare,
one Colt, two Cows, one Steer, two Heifers, two Calves, six Hogs,
two Sows, thirteen Shoats, one Waggon & Harness, and one Carriage
& Harness   To have and to hold all & singular the said goods and
Chattels and stock herein before granted, bargained & sold, unto the said
Jeremiah Hubbard, his heirs and Assigns forever:  And the said James
H. Mears, for himself, his Executors & Administrators, all & singular
the said property unto the said Jeremiah Hubbard, his Executors,
Administrators and Assigns, against him the said James H. Mears,
and every other person or persons, shall & will warrant & forever defend
by these presents.  In witness whereof I, the said James H. Mears, hath
hereunto set his name and affixed his seal the day of 29 October 1851
Signed, sealed & delivered in the                     James H. Mears   (seal)
presence of Charles Corkran

                                              State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit:
On this 29.th day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand
