Jones, aforesaid, who did acknowledge the foregoing Indenture or
Bill of Sale, to be their act & deed, according to the purport,
true intent & meaning of the same, and the Acts of Assembly
in such case made & provided:  And now also at the same time
and place, before me, a Justice of the Peace as aforesaid, personally
appeared M.rs Sarah Jones, grantee as aforesaid, in the said Bill
of Sale, and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the
said Bill of Sale, is true & bona fide as therein set forth.
Acknowledged & sworn before me      James Hammersly.

1851 August 1.st Rec.d the sum of one dollar in lieu of a
stamp on this Bill of sale.                        Wm Jackson   Clk


Margaret A. Jones      Be it remembered that the following Bill of
Ex.d   from      80       Sale was recorded on the 1.st day of August
W.m J. Jones, Ex.r      Anno Domini 1851, To wit:
                                     This Indenture made this nineteenth day
of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred &
fifty one, between William J. Jones of Dorchester County, Executor of
John Jones of Col ^deceased^ late of said County and State of Maryland, of
the one part, and Margaret A. Jones of McKiel's point in said
County and State of the other part.  Witnesseth, that the said William
J. Jones, Executor as aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of
Two hundred dollars, current money, to him in hand paid by the
said Margaret A. Jones, at & before the sealing and delivering of
these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted,
bargained & sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell,
unto the said Margaret A. Jones, her Executors, Administrators &
Assigns, one Negro Man named Anthony, and belonging to the Estate
of the aforesaid John Jones of Col. deceased, for the full time or term
of five years & six months from the twelfth day of July eighteen
hundred & fifty one, that being the period of time the said Anthony
is to be free.   To have and to hold the said Negro Man Anthony
unto the said Margaret A. Jones her Executors, Administrators and
Assigns, to her and their own use and benefit during all the said
time or term above mentioned and no longer.  Now the said
parties to this Indenture fully agree to all the matters and
conditions set forth in the said Indenture or Bill of Sale.
In witness whereof the said William J. Jones, as Executor
aforesaid, and Margaret A. Jones aforesaid, have hereunto set
their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first
herein before written
