337. Act and deed, according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the same. At the same time personally appeared William Jackson the within named grantee, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the within Bill of Sale, is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged and sworn before Charles Corkran Ann E. A. Muse Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Exd from 65 was recorded on the 14.th day of May 1851, tow it: Joseph Flint {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that I, {one Dol.} Joseph Flint, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars, current money, to me in hand paid by Anne E. A. Muse, of the same County and State aforesaid, at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Joseph Flint, do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do hereby grant, bargain & sell unto the said Anne E. A. Muse, her heirs, executors, Administrators and Assigns, the following Negro Woman, that is to say, a certain Negro woman named Mary Jane aged about nineteen years and a slave for life. To have and to hold the said Negro Woman above bargained and sold, and mentioned & intended so to be, to the said Anne E. A. Muse, her heirs, executors, Administrators and Assigns, forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of May in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty one. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of B. D. Jackson David M. Corkran Jos. Flint (Seal) State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this thirteenth day of May Eighteen hundred & fifty one, personally appears before better subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for Dorchester County and State of Maryland, the above named Joseph Flint, party grantor in the above Bill of sale, and Acknowledged the above Bill of Sale to be his Act and deed; And I hereby certify that I am satisfied, from my own personal knowledge that the said Joseph Flint, who professes to be the party grantor in the above Bill of sale, is the same person who executed and Acknowledged the same before me; And at the same time personally appears before me the aforesaid Anne E. A. Muse, party grantee in the said Bill of sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth, according to the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided.
