she being known to me to be the person who is named & described
as, and professing to be a party to the within Bill of sale or
instrument of writing a doth acknowledge the within Bill
of sale or instrument of writing to be her act & deed.  At the
same time & place also appeared John Brohawn, the grantee
in the said indenture or Bill of sale, and made Oath on the
Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in
the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth,
and that his mothers ^love &^ affection is also true & bona fide as
therein set forth.  In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name
on the day & year above written.                        James Rea.

lieu of a stamp on this Bill of sale.

Sarah Woolford      Be it remembered that the following Bill of
Exd     from     70    Sale was recorded on the 7.th day of April 1851, To wit:
John Brown             Know all Men by these presents that I, John Brown
                               of Dorchester County & state of Maryland, for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixteen dollars, current
money, to me in hand paid by Sarah Woolford, at and before the
sealing & delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof, I, the said
John Brown, do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold,
unto the said Sarah Woolford, her heirs, executors & Administrators,
one Horse, one Yoke Oxen, 2 yearlings, 4 Hogs, one Ox Cart, 2 ploughs,
1 Harrow, 1 Grubing Hoe, 1 Weeding Hoe, 2 Beds, Bedsteads & furniture,
4 Barrels Corn, one Crop of wheat now growing and now in my possession.
To have and to hold the above described Household stuff & farming
implements to the said Sarah Woolford, her Executors, Administrators and
Assigns forever.  And I the said John Brown, for myself, my heirs,
Executors & Administrators, the aforesaid Horse, Oxen, yearlings &c to the
said Sarah Woolford, her Executors, Administrators & Assigns, against
me, the said John Brown, my Executors & Administrators, and against
all and every person or persons whomsoever shall & will warrant &
forever defend by these presents:  Provided Nevertheless that in case
the said John Brown, my executors & Administrators shall pay
and satisfy to the said Sarah Woolford, or to her Executors, Administrators
or Assigns the sum of one hundred & sixteen dollars,
current money, with interest for the same, on or before the first day
of January next ensuing, then this Bill of sale & every matter &
thing therein contained and expressed shall become & of none effect
it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property
