Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that on this thirty first
day of March in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty
one, before the subscriber, a Justice of the peace, in & for said
County & State, personally appears Sarah B. Dunnock, she
being known to me to be the person who is named & described as,
and professing to be a party to the within Bill of sale, and doth
acknowledge the said Bill of sale, or instrument of writing,
to be her act & deed.   In testimony I hereto subscribe my
name on the day & year aforesaid.                  James Rea.

At the same time & place also personally appeared John Brohawn,
the grantee in the said Bill of sale, and made Oath on
the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that that the consideration
set forth & love & affection therein expressed by the within
Bill of sale is true & bona fide as therein set forth &
expressed.   Sworn before                  James Rea.


John Brohawn          Be it remembered that the following Bill
Paid from p.d  65     of sale was recorded on the 31 day of March 1851.
Sarah B. Dunnock    Know all men by these presents that I, Sarah
                                B. Dunnock, of Dorchester County in the
State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the love & affection
and the sum of one cent to me in hand paid by my son
John Brohawn, at & before the sealing of these presents,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I, the said Sarah
B. Dunnock have granted, bargained & sold, and by these
presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said John
Brohawn, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns my Negro
James Kuse, aged about thirty years, a slave for life.  To
have and to hold the said Negro Man above bargained &
sold, or mentioned or intended so to be, to the said John Brohawn
his Executors, Administrators or Assigns, all & singular of which
John Brohawn in full possession by delivering to him the said
John Brohawn the said Negro hereby bargained & sold.   In
testimony whereof I, the said Sarah B. Dunnock, have hereto
set my hand & seal this 31.st day of March 1851.

presence of James Rea                        Sarah B. Dunnock   (Seal)

State of Maryland, Dorchester County, sc.   Be it remembered
and it is hereby certified that on this 31.st day of March Eighteen
hundred and fifty one, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace
of the State & County aforesaid, personally appeared Sarah B. Dunnock
