304. and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said James Marshall, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns, a Negro Woman named Jantey Jackson, slave for life To have and to hold the said Negro Jantey Jackson to James Marshall, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever: And I the said Nancy Camper, for myself, my heirs, executors & Administrators, the said Jantey Jackson unto James Marshall, his executors, Administrators & Assigns, against me the said Nancy Camper, my executors & administrators, and against every other person whatsoever, shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents. In Witness I have hereto set my hand & seal this 26.th day of December A. D. 1850. her Acknowledged before Nancy x Camper (Seal) James Rea mark State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this 26.th day of December 1850, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for said County, personally appears Nancy Camper, free Coloured Woman, she being known to me to be the person who is named and described as, and professing to be a the party to the foregoing Bill of sale and doth acknowledge the said Bill of sale to be her Act & deed: At the same time & place also appeared before the subscriber, James Marshall, grantee in the said Bill of sale named, and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said bill of sale is true & bona fide as therein set forth. James Rea Delia N. Byns Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Paid to Ex.d Deed of Manumission was recorded on the 26.th day of Negro Priscilla December in the year 1850, To wit: To all whom it may concern, be it known that I, Delia N. Byns, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving, have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted & set free, and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit & set free, my Negro Woman named Priscilla, being of the age of seventeen years, and able to work & gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance; and her, the said Negro Woman named Priscilla, I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted & discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me, my Executors or Administrators, forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty sixth day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty.
