the said James A. Stewart and his heirs and assigns forever, all of
his crop of Corn and Fodder on the premises rented from D.r
Handy, and all other property that he may possess of any & every
description, embracing amongst other articles one Bay Hors
To have and to hold the said property to the said James A Stewart
and his heirs and assigns forever, Provided that if the said
Joseph Marine shall well & truly pay off the said Judgment in
Dorchester County Court within twelve months from date, then this
obligation to be void, else of full force and virtue in law
Witness my hand & seal this 25.th day of September 1850.
Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of
             Charles Corkran                        Joseph Marine   (seal)

State of Maryland, Dorchester County, Tow it:  On this 25.th day of
September in the year Eighteen hundred & fifty, before the subscriber
a Justice of the Peace in and for the said State & County, personally
appeared Joseph Marine, party grantor in the foregoing Bill of
Sale, and acknowledged the same to be his Act and deed
At the same time appeared James A. Stewart, party grantee,
and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the
consideration mentioned in the said Bill of sale is bona fide
just and true to the best of his knowledge & belief.

Henry Elliott and                      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded
Edward Thomas                      on the second day of October Anno Domini 1850, to wit:
Ex.d   from                 75         Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Whales free
Stephen Whales free negro      negro of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in
                                              Consideration of the sum of Nineteen Dollars and Seventy cents
Current money to me in hand paid by Henry Elliott and Edward Thomas of the County and
State aforesaid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of whereof
I the said Stephen Whales free negro do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Henry Elliott and
Edward Thomas their executors administrators and assigns all the goods Household Stuff
and implements viz: Crops of Corn on the ground all the fodder on the fodder house, two
Milch Cows, two calfs one Sorrell Horse, and one Horse Cart two Beds and furniture some
chairs and five Shoats, all and Singular which said Goods, chattels are now in the occupation
of the said Stephen Whales to Have and to Hold all and Singular the said goods
household stuff and furniture and other the premises above bargained and sold or
mentioned and intended so to be to the said Henry Elliott and Edward Thomas their executors
administrators and assigns forever, and I the said Stephen Whales for myself my heirs executors
and administrators all and singular the said goods household stuff and furniture and
other the premises unto the said HEnry Elliott and Edward Thomas their heirs executors and
