Byns and acknowledged the within deed of Manumission to be her act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according to the act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Acknowledged before James Rea Ezekiel R. Hooper Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded Exam.d from 75 on the twenty third day of August Anno Domini 1850, to wit: Galloway Webb negro Know all men by these presents that I Galloway Webb free Coloured man of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred Dollars current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by Ezekiel R. Hooper of the said County and State before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge, I the said Galloway Webb have given, granted bargained, sold conveyed and transferred, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell, Convey and transfer unto the said Ezekiel R. Hooper his heirs and assigns forever, the following goods and chattels and personal property to wit: one bay mare, one red steer, one Milch Cow, one ox cart, one waggon and harness, two stye hogs, the Crop of Corn and fodder now growing on the Lot where I reside, the Crop of sweet potatoes and irish potatoes growing on said lot, one plow, one harrow, plow harness, hoes, spade, rakes, and all the residue of every kind and description whatsoever now in my possession. To Have and to Hold the said above described property, goods and chattels unto the said Ezekiel R. Hooper his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their sole use and uses forever, and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, against me the said Galloway Webb my heirs and assigns, and against all persons whatsoever claiming the same or any part thereof unto the said Ezekiel R. Hooper shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony whereof the said Galloway Webb has hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal this twenty third day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty. Signed sealed and delivered in the his presence of Charles Corkran Galloway x Webb (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester County Sct Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty, personally appeared Galloway Webb and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his act and deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned, according to the true intent and meaning thereof, and the acts of Assembly in such Cases made and provided.
