Tyler Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered & it is hereby certified, that on this 26.th day of June in the year Eighteen hundred & fifty, personally appeared Mary M. D. Tubman, the party Grantee in the aforegoing Bill of sale, and Acknowledged the same to be their act & deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned And on the same day, before me as aforesaid, personally appeared Gabriel P. Lake, the Grantee named in the aforegoing BIll of sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged & sworn before D. W. Tyler. Minos Adams Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the Ex.d To 55 following Deed of Manumission was recorded on the Negro Daniel 2.d day of July A. D. 1850, To wit: To all whom it may concern, be it known that I, Minos Adams, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for divers good causes & considerations, me thereunto moving, as also in further consideration of the sum of Twenty dollars, current money, to me in hand paid, have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted & set free, and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit & set free, my Negro Man named Daniel, being of the age of forty years, and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance, and him the said Negro Man named Daniel I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted & discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me, my Executors or Administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentyieth^ninth^ day of June 1850 in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred & fifty. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Charles Willis Jeremiah Cannon Minos Adams (seal) State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this twentyieth^ninth^ day of June in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty, personally appeared Minos Adams, the party to the above instrument of writing, before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in & for the County & State aforesaid and Acknowledged the same to be his act & deed for the purpose above mentioned, and the negro Man above named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all service to him or to any claiming under him, and to be free and manumitted according to the acts of Assembly in such case made and provided.
