258. Signed, sealed and delivered Jas. A. Hutchinson (seal) in the presence of Mitchel Thompson (seal) John D. Stevens J. P. William F. Hicks (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this twenty fifth day of May in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty, personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County and state aforesaid, the within named James Hutchinson & Mitchel Thompson, Executors of James Hutchinson, dec.d, and William Franklin Hicks, and Acknowledged the within Bill of sale to be their Act and deed, according to the purport, true intent & meaning of the same, And at the same time personally appeared the within named William Franklin Hicks, Purchaser, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the consideration sum set forth in the within "Bill of sale" is true and bonafide as therein set forth, according to the true intent & meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846 Chap. 27 made & provided. Acknowledged before John D. Stevens, A Justice of the Peace. Rec.d May 27 1850 one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of sale. Wm Jackson Clk State of Maryland Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Ex.d from 50 Bond was recorded on the 11.th day of June 1850, To wit: W.m Creighton & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we {six dollars} William Creighton, William Rea, John R. Creighton & Jeremiah C. Wright, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland, in the full & just sum of Fifteen thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the State of Maryland, which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves and every of us, our and every of our heirs, executors & administrators, in the whole & for the whole, jointly & severally by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 7.th day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty. The Conditions of the above Obligations are such that if the above bounden W.m Creighton shall well & truly discharge the duties of Treasurer of the Primary Schools of Dorchester County according to law, then the above Obligation shall be void, otherwise it is to be & remain in full force and virtue in law W.m Creighton (seal) Signed in the presence of W.m Rea (seal) James Higgins John R.
