255 John Richardson Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Ex.d from 60 Bill of sale was recorded on the 13.th day of May 1850, To wit: John H. Bell Know all men by these presents that I, John H. Bell of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars, current money, to me in hand paid by John Richardson of the same County and State aforesaid, at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said John H. Bell, do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said John Richardson, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns, one Bay Horse called "Charley" which I obtained from Otho Linthicum by way of a trade, which said Horse is now in my possession: To have and to hold the said Horse "Charley", above bargained & sold, or mentioned, or intended so to be, to the said John Richardson, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, forever. In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this thirteenth day of May Anno Domini Eighteen hundred & fifty. his Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of John H. x Bell (seal) Charles Corkran mark State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On the thirteenth day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty, before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace, in and for said County, personally appeared John H. Bell and acknowledged the above instrument of writing, or Bill of sale, to be his act and deed, according to the true intent & meaning thereof and the acts of Assembly in such case made & provided: At the same time personally appeared John Richardson, party grantee in the above Bill of sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in this Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth, according to the act of Assembly in such case made & provided. Acknowledged before Charles Corkran. Paid Thomas Jones Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Bill of sale Ex.d from 80 was recorded on the 15.th day of Mary in the year 1850, To wit: James M. Bannon Know all men by these presents that I, James M. Bannan, of Baltimore City & County, and State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred & ten dollars, lawful money of the United States, in hand paid by Thomas Jones of Dorchester County Estern shore of Mariland, aforesaid, at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said Thomas Jones, his executors, administrators and Assigns, a certain Black Girl named Susan, about Eleven years & six months old on the first day of May 1850, the said Girl to serve untill October the first 1868, or untill she shall arrive at the age of thirty years, as will be paid by reference to a ^Deed of^ Manumission recorded in Cambridge, Dorchester County Eastern shore of Maryland. To have and to hold the said described black Girl, named Susan, unto the said Thomas Jones for the period of Eighteen B of Sale deld to Thomas Jones December 5 1850 |
