254 chattels of the said Elijah Marshall I should cause to be made the several sums of money in the said Executions mentioned, and to make return of the same before said Justin Abbott or some other Justice of said County, on the first day of April then next following, and to have then & there the said writs, and the said writs having come into my hands, I proceded in virtue of the authority therein contained to seize and take in execution the goods & chattels of said Marshall, and among other articles I seized & took in execution a Negro Boy called Henry aged about 13 years as the property of said Marshall, and after giving the notice required by law of the time place & manner of sale, I did expose to public auction at the store of Muir & Wrightson on the 23 day of April in the year Eighteen hundred & fifty, the said Negro Boy named Henry, to the highest bidder for Cash, and Thomas H. Wrightson being then & there the highest bidder became the purchaser of said Negro at & for the sum of one hundred & five dollars. Now know all men by these presents that I James N. Wright, Constable as aforesaid, for and in consideration of the Premises, and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & five dollars in hand paid at & before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell to the said Thomas H. Wrightson, all the right, title, claim & demand, at law & in Equity, of the said Elijah Marshall, of, in & to the said Negro Boy named Henry, and I have put the said Negro Henry in the possession of the said Thomas H. Wrightson. In Witness whereof I have set my hand & seal on this 29.th day of March in the year 1850. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of James N. Wright (seal) Charles Corkran Constable Dorchester County Sct: Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that on this 29.th day of March 1850, before me a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County, personally appears James N Wright, Constable, he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as, and professing to be the party grantor in the foregoing Bill of sale, and doth acknowledge the same to be his act and deed. In testimony whereof I have subscribed my name on the day & year aforesaid. Charles Corkran. State of Maryland, Dorchester County, Sct: Personally appears before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County on this 8 day of May in the year 1850, Thomas H. Wrightson the grante mentioned in the above Bill of sale, and Makes Oath that the consideration mentioned and expressed in said Bill of sale is true & bona fide & certainly given as therein expressed Sam.l Abbott J.
