217 Affa Richardson aged about forty two years, also my Negro Girl named Phillis Ann Richardson, aged about fourteen years, and also my negro Girl named Sarah Elizabeth Richardson, aged about twelve years, and are able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance and them the said Negroes Affa Richardson, Phillis Ann Richardson, and Sarah Elizabeth Richardson, I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me, my Executors or Administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & affixed my seal this Eighth day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of his Josiah Jump Charles Corkran Joseph x Richardson (seal) mark Maryland, Dorchester County, Sc: Be it remembered that on this Eighth day of January Eighteen hundred & fifty personally appears Joseph Richardson, free coloured man, part to the within instrument of writing, before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and for said County, and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned, and the several negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted & discharged from all services to him, or to any claiming under him, and to be free & manumitted, according to the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided. Acknowledged before Charles Corkran, J. Peace. Ann H. Bayly Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Deed Paid To Ex.d of Manumission was recorded on the 10.th day of January 1850, To wit: Sundry Negroes To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, Ann H. Bayly, of the Town of Cambridge, in Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving, have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted & set free, and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit & set free, my negro woman named Ellen, being of the age of twenty seven years, and able to work & gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance, and her children, To wit: Walter aged eight years, Mary aged six years, and Sophia aged three years; and her the said Negro Woman Ellen and her three children I do declare to be free as follows, To wit: Ellen to be free forthwith & from henceforth, and each of her children, Walter, Mary & Sophia to be free when they attain the age of fifteen years, at which time they will be able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance; and I do declare the said woman, Ellen, and her three children free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of services or servitude to me my Executors or Administrators, according to the above specified ages, forever. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand seal this second day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty. Witness W.m Rea James Rea Ann H.
