199. William H. Muse of said County & State, at & before the sealing & delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Alexander Stanley, do hereby acknowledge, have given, granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & transfered, and by these presents do give, grant, bargain, sell, convey & transfer, unto the said Doctor William H. Muse, his heirs & Assigns forever, the following property, to wit: ne Bed & Bedstead, & ticking for same, one Pine Table, one Cupboard & contents, one Coffee Mill & two Coffee pots, sixteen plates and Tin Bucket, one pair of And Irons, two pots with Hooks, one Oven & Spider, two Tubs & one Bushel Basket, four Hoes & one Grindstone, one Pig, one Bread bowl, Biscuit roller & pin, two stone Jars & two Earthen Jars, one Stone Pitcher & one Earthen Pan, Vegetables in Garden, two Buckets & cooler, one spining wheel. To have & to hold the above mentioned goods & chattels unto the said Doctor William H. Muse, his heirs & assigns forever, to his & their sole use & uses forever, & to and for no other use, intent or purpose whatsoever, against me the said Alexander Stanley & my heirs & against all persons whatever, claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof I the said Alex Stanly have hereunto submiterd my name & affixed my seal this 2.d day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine. his Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Alexander x Stanley (seal) Charles Corkran B. D. Jackson mark Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered & it is hereby Certified, that on this 2.d day of August in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine, personally appeared Alexander Stanley, the party Grantor in the aforegoing Bill of Sale, and acknowledged the same to be his Act & deed, and delivered the same for the uses & purposes therein specified And on the same day, before me as aforesaid, personally appeared D.r W.m H. Muse, the grantee named in the aforegoing Bill of Sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is true & bona fide as therein specified & set forth. Staplefort Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was Ex.d from 65 recorded on the 7 day of August 1849 To wit: Josiah H. Mills & Wife {Stamp 1$} Know all men by these presents that We Josiah H. Mills and Ellen Jane Mills his wife of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and eighty Dollars Current money of Maryland to us in hand paid by John S Staplefort of said County and State before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge the said Josiah H. Mills and Ellen Jane |
