198 Samuel Dunnock Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Paid Ex.d from was recorded on the 30th day of July 1849, To wit: Levin Dunnock {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that I Levin {75 Cents} Dunnock of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred dollars current money of Maryland, to me in hand paid by Samuel Dunnock, of said County and state, before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Levin Dunnock has granted, bargained & sold, conveyed & transfered, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell, convey & transfer, unto the said Samuel Dunnock, his heirs & assigns forever, the following Negroes, To wit: one Negro woman Sarah, one Negro Boy Dick, one Negro Boy Ben, one Negro Girl Jane, one Negro Boy Moses, one Negro Girl Rachel, Slaves for life, and now in the possession of the said Samuel Dunnock, with the exception of Boys Dick & Ben. To have and to hold the said above described negroes unto the said Samuel Dunnock, his heirs and assigns forever, to his & their sold use & uses forever, and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever, against me the said Levin Dunnock & my heirs, and against all persons whatever claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof the said Levin Dunnock has hereunto subscribed his name & affixed his seal this thirtieth day of July Eighteen hundred & forty nine. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of his Charles Corkran E. R. Hooper Levin + Dunnock (Seal) mark Maryland, Dorchester County ss. Be it remembered & it is hereby Certified that on the thirtieth day of July in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine, personally appeared Levin Dunnock, the party grantor in the aforegoing BIll of sale, and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein specified. And on the same day, before me as aforesaid, personally appeared Samuel Dunnock, the grantee named in the aforegoing Bill of sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of Sale is true & bona fide as therein specefied & set forth.
