194 Samuel Harrington, Benjamin G. Keene ^Levin L. Keene^ & Vachel Keene, of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full & just sum of Twenty thousand seven hundred & nineteen dollars and eighty cents, current money of the United States, to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney; to the which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves & each of us, our & each of our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals & dated this twenty fifth day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty nine. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden John Richardson, appointed Collector of the Direct Tax for Dorchester County, shall well & faithfully execute the Office of Collector of the Direct Tax for said County, and the several duties required of him by law, and shall well & truly account for & pay to the Treasurer of Maryland the several sums of Money which he shall receive or be answerable for my law at such time as the law shall direct then the above Obligation to be void, or else to be & remain in full force & virtue in law.
