185. Dorchester County, To wit: On the 14.th day of May 1849 personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County aforesaid, James Higgins & James Hammersly, and made the following Oath, To wi: "We James Higgins & James Hammersly, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that Charles Shenton, Stewart Vickers and Polish Mills, Obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally in our presence sign, seal & deliver the said Bond as their act & deed for the purposes therein mentioned." Sworn before me on the day above mentioned. James Rea Approved by the Commissioners for Dorchester County, May 14.th 1849 W.m Rea, Clerk State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was Ex.d from recorded on the 18.th day of May 1849, To wit: W.m J. Cowart & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we {one dol.} William I. Cowart, Levin L. Keene & Thomas Andrews, of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland, in the full & just sum of Two thousand dollars, current money of the United states, to be paid to the said state or its certain Attorney; to the which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals & dated this 18.th day of May 1849. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden William I. Cowart shall well & truly execute the Office of Constable in Election District number five in Dorchester County in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well & truly account for all monies placed in his hands for Collection, and shall also well and truly pay all sums of Money received by him, on Judgment or otherwise, then the above Obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law.
