184. with our seals & dated this twenty third day of April 1849. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden James E. Douglass shall well & truly execute the Office of Constable in Election district N.o one in Dorchester County in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well & truly account for all moneys placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well & truly pay all sums of money received by him, on Judgment or otherwise, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law. Smith (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 23.d day of April 1849, personally appeared before me, the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid, George W. L. Smith & Charles L. Hooper and made the following Oath, To wit: "We George W. L. Smith & Charles L. Hooper, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath, that James E. Douglass, Charles T. Smith & Thomas K. Smith, obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally in our presence, sign, seal & deliver the said Bond as their Act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned." Sworn before me on the day above mentioned. Charles Corkran Approved by the Commissioners May 7 1849 W.m Rea Clerk State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond Paid from Ex.d was recorded May 14.th 1849, To wit: Charles Shenton & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that {one dol.} we Charles Shenton, Stewart Vickers and Polish Mills, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full & just sum of Two thousand dollars, current Money of the United States, to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this fourteenth day of May 1849.
