165 Nancy Wing Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale and Manumission was Ex.d from 62½ recorded on the 31st day of March 1849. To wit Minty Henson Maryland Dorchester County Sct Know all men by these presents that I Paid Minty Henson of Dorchester County and State aforesaid for divers good causes me thereunto moving and also for the sum of One Dollar Current money to me in hand paid by Nancy Wing (free negro) of Baltimore City the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell unto her the said Nancy Wing my grand daughter (Charlesina Henson) to serve the said Nancy Wing until she (Charlesina) arrives at the age of Eighteen years and then to be free fully emancipated liberated and discharged from service to the said Nancy Wing and every other person whatever In testimony Whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 26th day of March in the Year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred and forty nine her Signed Sealed and delivered in the Presence of Minty x Hinson (Seal) Charles Corkran Charles L Hooper mark Dorchester County To wit: Be it remembered that on this 26th day of March in the Year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and forty nine the above named Minty Henson Personally Appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace for Dorchester County and acknowledges the within and above instrument of Writing to be her act and deed Taken and Acknowledged before Charles Corkran J. P. Also Came before me the subscriber Nancy Wing and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bonafide as therein set forth according to the true meaning of the Acts of Assembly of 1846 Chap 271 made and provided John J Snyder J. P. Justice of the Peace if the State State of Maryland of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore this Baltimore County Sct 29th day of March A. D. 1849. I hereby Certify That John J Snyder Esquire before whom the annexed Affidant was made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned & sworn { Seal of } In testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the Seal of Baltimore {Baltimore County} County Court the 29th day of March A. Bradford Clerk Baltimore County Court Stanley Richardson Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded on the Ex.d from 60 1st day April 1849 To wit: Edward Richardson Know all men by these presents that I Edward Richardson of Dorchester Paid County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of one Hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Stanley Richardson of Dorchester County and State of Maryland have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Stanley Richardson his heirs and assigns negro man Nearrow Allen to serve two years and four months from the first day of January Eighteen Hundred and forty nine Slave for term of years as aforesaid and Sound in Body and mind. To Have and To Hold the said Negro man Nearrow Allen for the term of two years and five months as aforesaid from Deliv.d to John Richardson May 19.th 1849 |
