162. to the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided Acknowledged before and Certified by D W Tyler 1849 March 24 Rec.d of Mary Dean & others the sum of one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of Sale Wm Jackson Clk Slater S. Dean Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded on the Ex.d from 50 24th day of March 1849. To wit: William Dean Know all men by these Presents that I William Dean of Geo of Dorchester County State of Maryland for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I the said William Dean hath and beareth unto my Son Slater S. Dean as also for the better support and maintenance & livelihood of the said Slater S. Dean hath given granted and Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and Confirm unto the said Slater S. Dean his heirs and Assigns forever One negro boy Elias a slave for life which said Negro boy Elias I will warrant and forever defend unto the said Slater S. Dean his Executors Administrators and Assigns against my heirs executors Administrators and against all other person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof I the said William Dean have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty first day of March Eighteen Hundred and forty nine Signed Sealed and delivered William Dean (seal) in presence of D W Tyler State of Maryland Dorchester COunty To wit Be it remembered that on this 21st day of March 1849 personally appears before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid William Dean of Geo and signed and acknowledged the above bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according to the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided. Acknowledged before and Certified by D W Tyler March 24 1849. Recd of Slater S Dean one Dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill Sale Wm Jackson Clk Andrew J Collins Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded on Ex.d from 65 the 26th day of March 1849 To wit Samuel G Collins {stamp} Know all men by these Presents that I Samuel G Collins Paid {one Dol} of Dorchester County and the State of Maryland for & in Consideration of the Sum of four hundred Dollars Current Money to me in hand paid by Andrew J Collins of Dorchester County and the State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof I the said Samuel G Collins do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Andrew I Collins his Executors Administrators and assigns a Certain negro boy slave for life named Tom supposed to be about twenty years of age. To Have and To Hold the said Negro boy Slave named Tom above bargained and sold or intended so to 1849 Octo 12th Ditto Andrew J Collins |
