161 Mary Dean and others Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded Ex.d from 80 on the 24th day of March 1849 To wit William Dean Know all men by these presents that I William Dean of George of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the Natural love and affection which I the said William Dean hath and beareth unto my wife Mary Dean and my daughter Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean and Olivia E Dean as also for the better maintenance support livelihood of the said Mary Dean Margaret E Julia A & Olivia E Dean hath given granted and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant and Confirm unto the said Mary Dean Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean and Olivia E Dean them their heirs and assigns forever one Negro girl Lotty and all my stock of various kinds also all my goods and chattels and house hold stuff farming implements and all other Personal Property that I now owe all and singular which said Goods and Chattels are now remaining standing and being on the Farm or tenements situate in Lakes District Dorchester County and now occupied by the said William Dean To Have and To Hold all and singular the said Negro Girl Lotty Stock of Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Hogs, Household Stuff and furniture farming implements and all other Personal Property and other premises above given Granted and Confirmed or Mentioned and intended so to be to the said Mary Dean Margaret E. Dean Julia A Dean & Olivia A Dean them their heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever and I the said William Dean for myself, my heirs, Executors and Administrators all and singular the said goods Negro girl Stock and Other goods house hold stuff and furniture and other the Premises unto the said Mary Dean, Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean & Olivia E Dean their Executors Administrators and assigns against me the said William Dean My Executors and Administrators and Against all and every other Person or Persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents of all and singular which said Negro Girl Lotty Stock of Horses, Cattle Sheep Hogs Goods and household stuff and furniture and other the premises I the said William Dean have put the said Margaret Dean Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean and Olivia E Dean in full possession of by delivering to the said Mary Dean Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean & Olivia E Dean one table spoon at the sealing and delivering of these Presents in the name of the whole premises hereby Given Granted & Confirmed or mentioned and intended to be so unto the said Mary Dean Margaret E Dean Julia A Dean & Olivia E Dean as aforesaid. In witness whereof the said William Dean has hereunto set his hand and seal this twenty first day of March Eighteen Hundred and forty nine Signed Sealed and delivered William Dean (Seal) in presence of D W Tyler State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit Be it Remembered that on this twenty first day of March 1849 personally appears before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid William Dean of Geo and signed and acknowledged the above and foregoing bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according |
