107. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond Paid from Ex.d was recorded on the 12.th day of May 1848, To wit: W.m H. Elliott & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we {one dol.} William H. Elliott, Hiram W. Woolford and Zacchariah Linthicum, of Dorchester County, in the State of Maryland, are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland, in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the said State or its Attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this twelfth day of May 1848. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden William Elliott shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable in Election District N.o 4 in Dorchester County, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well and truly pay all sums of Money received by him, then the above Obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law. William H. Elliott (L S) Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Hiram W. Woolford (L S) Barzillai Slacum J. R. Martin Zacah Linthicum (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 12.th day of May 1848, personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County aforesaid, and Barzillai Slacum & John R. Martin, and made the following Oath, To wit: "We & John R. Martin & Barzillai Slacum, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that William Elliott, Hiram W. Woolford and Zacchariah Linthicum Obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally, in our presence, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their Act & deed for the purposes therein mentioned." Benjamin Be it remembered that the following Mortgage bill 95 from Ex.d of Sale was recorded on the 20.th day of May 1848, To wit: Elizabeth Corkran Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Corkran, wife of Charles Corkran, of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy dollars and forty nine cents, current money of Maryland, to me in hand paid by William I. Benjamin, of said County and state, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Delivered July 3.d 1847 to W.m I. Benjamin |
