104 Administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 17.th day of April 1848. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden James N. Wright shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable, in Election district number Eight in Dorchester County, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall well and truly account for all monies placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well and truly pay all sums of Money received by him, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise of full force and virtue in law. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of James N. Wright (Seal) James Higgins Barzillai Slacum Thomas R. Cook (Seal) W.m H. Cook J.r (Seal) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 17.th day of April 1848, personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid, James Higgins and Barzillai Slacum, and made the following Oath, To wit: "We James Higgins & Barzillai Slacum, subscribing witnesses to the above Bond, do make Oath that James N. Wright Tho.s Robert Cook and William H. Cook, Obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally, in our presence, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond, as their Act & deed, for the purposes therein mentioned. Sworn before me on the day above mentioned. Ja.s Hammersly John B. Dean Be it remembered that the following Mortgage Bill of 75. from Ex.d Sale was recorded on the 28.th day of April 1848, To wit W.m H. Batchelder Know all men by these presents that I William H Bachelder, of Dorchester County & state of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Forty dollars & Eighty five cents, current Money, to me in hand paid by John B. Dean of the County & state aforesaid, at or before the sealing & delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof I the said William H. Bachelder do hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said John B. Dean, his executors, Administrators and Assigns, one yoke of Steers, now in my possession To have and to hold the said yoke of Steers to the said John B. Dean, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns forever And I the said William ^H.^ Bachelder, for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators, the aforesaid yoke of Steers, to the said John B. Dean, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns, against me the said William H. Bachelder, my executors and administrators & against all and every person and persons whomsoever, shall and will warrant & forever defend by these presents: Provided Nevertheless that in case I the said William H. Bachelder shall pay and satisfy to the said John B. Dean, or to his Executors, Administrators or Assigns the sum of Forty dollars & Eighty five cents, current money, with interest for the same, on or before the fifteenth day of August next Delivered May 22.d 1848 to John B. Dean |
