95 said Levin Focks his executors administrators and assigns two ox carts one yoke oxen one horse 4 milk cows 4 yearlings 14 head hogs more or less two ploughs & harrow 4 head sheep 2 weeding & 3 grubbing hoes one feather Bed one Desk 3 iron pots 1 dutch oven and all the ballance of my house hold and Kitchen furniture all of which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Levin Fock his executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benifit and I the said Jacob Henry & for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these to the said Levin Focks his executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof I testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 10th day of april 1843 his Signed sealed and delivered Jacob + Henry (Seal) in the presence of mark John G Abbott Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 10th day of April 1843 before me the subscriber one of the justices of the peace in and for said County appears Jacob Henry sc and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Jacob G Abbott J.P. Bernard M. Campbell Be it remembered that the following Bill from (ex) pd of sale was recorded on the 11th April 1843 to wit George H. Schleigh Know all men by these presents that the following bargain & sale have been agreed upon between George H Schleigh of Dorchester County state of Maryland of the one part & Bernard M Campbell of Baltimore County same state of the other part to wit the Said Schleigh is the owner of a negro slave female now about twenty seven years of age and entitled to her person whenever she arrives to the age of thirty Five and whereas for the time she the said Female slave named Mariah has to Serve she is the property of the said Schleigh the said Schleigh has sold & transfered all his right & title to the said Female slave who has to serve as aforesaid to the said Campbell for & in consideration of the sum of seventy Five dollars which the said Schleigh acknowledges hereby to have recd To have & to hold the said Female slave as aforesaid to the said Bernard M Campbell for the time she has to serve as aforesaid & his his heirs & assigns and the said Campbell on his part does agree to the terms aforesaid and does hereby acknowledge that he has purchased the said slave for the time she Delivered to W Bell and paid April 20th 1843 |
